Brookline Condo Swaps Window ACs for an LG Ductless

Indoor LG walls AC unit installed for ductless system. The family living in this first-floor condo unit in North Brookline was tired of fighting to keep their home at the right temperature. The three-family house had a single pipe steam heat fired by oil for heating and poor insulation, which left the units chilly all winter. Additionally, the single window unit installed in the home during the summer was so inefficient that they rarely even turned it on.

Because of the lack of proper heating and air conditioning, this family was finding it harder and harder to enjoy their time together in the condo. Finally, they decided that there had to be a better way to get year-round comfort for their home, and they began researching options.

After finding multiple online reviews of N.E.T.R., Inc. from previous customers in the area, these condo owners decided to give us a call. They knew that we’d be able to design a system that would keep their home adequately heated and cooled all year long. Moreover, the family knew it was time to ditch the window AC unit, which was noisy, inefficient, and cost them a fortune to run.

The Problem: Three-family home in North Brookline, MA, needed heating and cooling solution for first-floor condo. An oil-fired heat pipe was the only source of heating for the home, and window ACs were used for cooling.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. designed a three-zone LG ductless system that offered both heating and air conditioning for the family. Now, they’d be able to enjoy every room of the condo all year long.

The Design

Brookline, MA, condo gets LG ductless system installed.James Smithell met with the condo owners to learn more about their heating and cooling problems. Because of the home’s layout, the existing heating system left hot and cold spots all winter and was expensive to run. Additionally, the window AC unit was so inefficient and noisy that the family never even used it. Instead, they spent all summer with no air conditioning or humidity control.

James knew that he could solve all their heating and cooling problems with a single system. A three-zoned LG ductless system would provide top-of-the-line HVAC throughout the home without significant reconstruction to the condo. He proposed that three indoor LG wall ACs be installed in the kitchen, bedroom, and family room. This positioning would allow for optimal airflow throughout the home to eliminate any hot or cold spots.

The Installation

Example of an LG ductless wall AC installed in Brookline home.An outdoor condenser unit was needed to act as a heat pump for the LG ductless system. This unit was installed outside the home on a small, poured concrete pad. The Heat pump was placed out of sight, but within easy reach for maintenance and repair purposes.

After the outdoor unit is installed, the team began working on hooking up all three indoor wall ACs. These AC units are ideal for condos because they require no major construction. In fact, the only changes that are made to the home is a small hole drilled behind each unit. This hole allows the technician to snake the tubing through the walls to connect the wall AC to the outdoor heat pump.

The heat pump operates by transferring the heat in the outside air through the refrigerant piping, heating it to the ideal temperature, and then out the indoor air handler via the tubing. The tubes are snaked through the walls like electrical wires, which saves the family from needing to install expensive, invasive ductwork throughout the home.

Each of the units will operate independently from one another, allowing the family to have complete control over the three zones of their home. The touch of a button, on the remote control, will give the owners the power to cool off the kitchen a few degrees while cooking, or warm up the bedroom on a chilly morning.

Another problem that the family faced was the lack of insulation. After getting the condo inspected for an energy audit, the owners will be having blown insulation added soon. This will help lower their energy bills, as well as keep their house the right temperature all year.

The Benefits

Outdoor heat pump for LG ductless system in Brookline, MA.Not only will this system provide high-quality heating and cooling throughout the year, but it will save these condo owners on their monthly energy bills. The LG ductless HVAC system is so efficient that organizations like Mass Save offer rebates to families who upgrade outdated systems to energy-efficient ones like this. This family was able to a $625 rebate from Mass Save to help offset the cost of installation.

These ductless ACs are so efficient that they often take only the same power as a lightbulb to run. Over the course of the year, that will make a huge dent in this family’s energy bills.

Another benefit to LG ductless is that the entire system works for both heating and cooling purposes. Instead of needing to install two separate systems for summer and winter, this family was able to get everything they need with a single installation. All it takes to switch from heating to cooling is the press of a button!

Additionally, the family was able to eliminate the need for the window AC, which also posed a security threat since they lived on the first floor. Burglars have been known to use window AC units as access points for homes by pushing the unit in and crawling through the window. Now, the family can rest easy all night long in a room that is the perfect temperature and knowing that their home is safe.

N.E.T.R., Inc. is proud to offer our customers a full year of labor on new installs for free, as well as a 12-year warranty. This guarantees that the family will be perfectly comfortable for years to come.

Contemporary Cape Home Upgrades Old Central AC System

Contemporary cape-style home in Winchester, MA, upgrades old AC system for central AC.Winchester, MA, is an excellent place to live, especially for those who work in or around Boston. It’s just a short drive from the main city but offers that quiet, suburban life that many families enjoy.

The homeowners of this contemporary Cape-style home in Winchester loved the location and neighborhood. Over the years, they had noticed that the central AC system in the house was struggling to keep up with the increasingly hot summers. Now that the existing system was 16 years old, it was finally time to get an upgrade.

The old central AC system had finally given out after years of keeping the family cool. However, recently they had noticed a spike in their energy bills and hot and cold spots throughout the home. The owners knew that a central air conditioning system overhaul was needed, so they contacted N.E.T.R., Inc.

The Problem: 16-year-old central AC system in Cape-style home had a leak and needed an overhaul to keep the family comfortable all year long.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. installed a new Carrier 16 SEER high-efficiency system to help save the family money on their monthly bills.

The Design

Carrier 16 Seer AC condenser unit installed outside Winchester, MA, home. When the family contacted N.E.T.R., Inc. with their problem, Mike Herrick took up the project. He met with the homeowners to tour the house and take a look at the existing central air system. While he was assessing what the owners would need to be replaced, Mike noticed that the 4-ton central air R22 system had a leak. He informed the homeowners of the leak and offered his proposal for the new system.

Mike said that N.E.T.R., Inc. would need to remove quite a bit of the old system and make sure that it was properly disposed of, then he and his team would install a new Carrier 4-ton coil, one new central air 2-stage indoor unit, and an outdoor condenser. They would also install a new WIFI thermostat.

The Installation

Example of the A coil replacement in contemporary Cape-style home. Before Mike’s team could start installing the central air conditioning system, they had to remove the parts of the existing system that were rundown. First, the team had to ensure all remaining R22 from the old AC system was recovered and disposed of properly. Additionally, the refrigerant piping for the old system had to be removed because of the leaks. N.E.T.R., Inc. also removed the existing coil from above the furnace and disconnected all the low voltage electrical wiring. All of these things must be disposed of following EPA guidelines, so N.E.T.R., Inc. knew that proper removal and disposal was important.

After all of these parts had been removed, Mike and his crew began installing the Carrier replacement parts. The installation included a brand new 4-ton central air coil, which was furnished and mounted above the oil furnace. New refrigerant piping was installed throughout the system, and a new 4-ton Carrier stage-2 was also brought in.

After the new system was in place, Mike fired it up and ran checks on the pressure of the system. He also checked for leaks, tested the evacuate, charge, and start functions. Once he was sure everything was in working order, Mike informed the owners that they were ready to start enjoying their new AC system.

The Benefits

One of the many benefits that these homeowners will see thanks to their decision to replace their leaking AC system is a decrease in their monthly energy bills. The central air conditioning system is much more efficient than the one that was installed almost two decades ago. And, since the leak is now fixed, the family won’t be wasting money on a system that’s losing precious energy every time it runs.

Another benefit this family can enjoy is the extended warranties offered by N.E.T.R., Inc. They’ll have one full year of labor for the newly installed AC system, as well as a 10-year warranty from Carrier!

Now, the family can enjoy perfectly treated air all summer long through their new central air conditioning system. One of the improvements that this central air system has to offer is the central air Performance Series Wi-Fi thermostat. This thermostat is more accurate than non-Wi-Fi models, and can be controlled from virtually anywhere!

The family can connect their central AC system to the Wi-Fi and access the thermostat from their smartphone at any time. This feature makes it easy to turn down the temperature without getting up from the couch or turn it up a few degrees before you get home from work.

After doing some research on HVAC companies in Boston and the surrounding areas, the owners decided to give N.E.T.R., Inc. a call. The long list of 5-star customer reviews from other homeowners convinced them that our team of experts would be able to solve their problems.

The Problem: This colonial-style home in Georgetown, MA, had an outdated HVAC system that was expensive to run and left the home with hot and cold spots. They needed an upgrade for year-round comfort.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. renovated the HVAC system for the whole house. Our team removed the old equipment and updated the existing system to provide energy-efficient heating and air conditioning.

The Design

When the family contacted N.E.T.R., Inc. with their HVAC problems, Mike Cappuccio stepped up to take the lead on their renovation. Mike is the founder of N.E.T.R., Inc. and has a passion for getting involved in providing heating and cooling solutions to families and businesses alike.

Mike met with the family to tour the house and get a feel for the scope of the project. Immediately, he knew that several parts of the existing system would need to be removed and replaced. Removing old HVAC equipment is a task that must be done to the EPA’s standards, which N.E.T.R., Inc. is familiar with and able to do easily. Mike knew that the removal and disposal of the equipment would not be a problem.

He also informed the family that the central air system would provide this family with the heating and air conditioning they needed to be comfortable all year long. He proposed replacing the outdoor condenser unit with a new Carrier 13 Seer outdoor condenser on a concrete pad. He also informed the family they would need a Carrier A unit installed on top of the existing furnace to complete the renovation.

Example of an outdoor condenser unit for central air HVAC system installed in Georgetown, MA.The Installation

Before the installation process could begin, Mike and his team had to remove the existing outdoor condenser unit from the property. This process had to be done very carefully to ensure the EPA’s standards are met and the unit is properly disposed of.

N.E.T.R., Inc. also needed to remove the A-coil from the existing furnace, which was to remain in place. Additionally, the team removed the old refrigerant line, which would need replacement, and disposed of it according to EPA guidelines, as well.

After the outdated system had been removed and disposed of, Mike and his team began installing the outdoor condenser for the system. This updated central air condenser is more efficient than the 2003 model and will help save the owners on their monthly bills. The unit was installed on the existing concrete pad, where the old unit had been removed.

N.E.T.R., Inc. then installed the new Carrier A coil on top of the furnace. The indoor unit and outdoor condenser were then connected through a 3/8x7/7 line.

The Benefits

Danvers, MA, Ranch Home Gets Central AC Upgrade

Danvers, MA, ranch home gets central AC upgrade from N.E.T.R., Inc.The homeowners of this ranch home in Danvers, MA, loved the location of their home. They were just down the street from the Liberty Tree Mall, which makes it easy to head over to the mall for a shopping day at a moment’s notice.

Unfortunately, the age of the home leads to some heating and cooling problems throughout the year. The problem was especially noticeable on the hottest and coldest days of the year. The homeowners had noticed that the old central AC system installed in their home was leaving hot and cold spots throughout the house.

After researching some solutions, the owners decided to contact N.E.T.R., Inc. and have an expert come by to assess the situation. They knew, based on our long list of 5-star reviews from previous customers, that we would be able to design a solution for their home.

The Problem: These owners of a ranch home in Danvers, MA, needed a central AC upgrade to their old HVAC system.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. installed an American Standard two-ton 13 Seer outdoor condenser and an American Standard two-ton air handler to offer high-quality air conditioning for the home.

The Design

American Standard air handler installed in central AC system for Danvers ranch home. Mike Cappuccio, the founder of N.E.T.R., Inc., has years of experience working on designing unique solutions for homeowners and businesses alike. For this project, he was happy to meet with the family and offer his expertise in creating their AC upgrade.

After touring the home and inspecting the old central HVAC system, Mike concluded that an American Standard two-ton system with a SEER rating of 13 would do the trick. He explained to the family that he and his team would need to remove and dispose of some of the old equipment. This removal process must be handled according to the EPA guidelines. Mike assured the family it could be done quickly and efficiently so that they could have their new American Standard AC up and running soon.

The Installation

The first thing that N.E.T.R., Inc. had to do for this project was to remove some of the outdated equipment from the home. The outdoor condenser unit was rundown and needed replacing, so that was the first item removed. Next, the indoor air handler was taken apart and removed, followed by the refrigerant lines. All of this equipment was then discarded according to EPA standards.

After the old equipment was removed, the team could start the process of installing the new AC system. They began by pouring a new concrete pad for the outdoor condenser unit since the original pad was not within proper clearance regulations of the home. The new pad ensured that the American Standard two-ton outdoor condenser unit was easy to access and had ample airflow around it. The new outdoor condenser had a SEER 13 rating, ensuring it will offer the family perfectly treated air all summer long.

The next step in this installation was to install a new American Standard two-ton air handler in the basement where the old unit had been. This placement allowed N.E.T.R., Inc. to utilize the existing ductwork, which saved the family money. The new air handler was then tied into the ductwork to provide perfectly treated air throughout the home.

Lastly, the team installed new refrigerant lines to connect the outdoor condenser to the indoor air handler. This refrigerant allows the air from the condenser to reach the air handler with minimal loss of energy so that the home can be cooled quickly and efficiently, even on the hottest days.

Additional work done on this project included some hookups installed on the existing ductwork and new drain lines on the newly installed ASSY condensate pump. The team also treated the outdoor unit with Liquid Tight to prevent leaking and installed new blocking under the unit.

The Benefits

Outdoor condenser unit install in central AC upgrade for Danvers, MA, home. N.E.T.R., Inc. also equipped the system with an ASSY Wi-Fi thermostat, which would allow the family easy control over the entire system. The Wi-Fi thermostat connects the home’s heating and air conditioning system to the internet, which allows the family to log-on and check their home’s system from anywhere.

Now, if the family leaves for vacation and forgets to set the temperature up a few degrees before they go, they don’t have to worry. Instead, once they reach their destination, they can simply log on to the system remotely and reset the temperature from their computer or smartphone.

Because air conditioning systems are continually improving, this new American Standard installation will help the family save money on their monthly energy bills. The new system will be more efficient and use less energy to keep their home cool than the outdated system.

Colonial Home Upgrades Central Air System in Burlington

Colonial home in Burlington, MA, gets a central AC upgrade with the American Standard HVAC system. The owners of this lovely colonial home in Burlington, MA, were experiencing problems with their central AC. This house was equipped with a natural gas baseboard heating system, as well as an FHA central air conditioning system, which was beginning to fail.

Unfortunately, the family began to notice that their HVAC system was unable to keep up with the size of the home. The hottest days of the year left the family sticky and hot, even with the AC running all day.

The homeowners looked into their options for upgrading their AC system. During their search, they found the many five-star reviews of N.E.T.R., Inc. from our past customers. These reviews led the owners to consider upgrading their existing central AC system for a ductless air conditioning solution. To get an expert’s opinion, they contacted Chip Moeckel at N.E.T.R., Inc.

The Problem: Colonial home in Burlington, MA, needed an upgrade to its outdated FHA central AC system. The owners considered options like replacement parts, upgraded central AC, or a ductless system.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. sent Chip Moeckel to assess the home. He installed an air handler in the attic and replaced the outdoor condenser with an American Standard four-ton 13 SEER condenser unit.

The Design

Example of the air handler installed in this Burlington, MA, home for central air system. When Chip met with the family, they told him about their research and the options they were considering. The homeowners asked if they would be better offer replacing the entire central AC system with a ductless system.

After touring the home and inspecting the existing AC units in the house, he gave them his design recommendation. Chip concluded that the system was in relatively good shape and that the family only needed a few upgrades to the older parts of the system. He did not recommend the change to a ductless system because of the existing ductwork in the home. He informed them that because much of the air conditioning system was in excellent shape, it would save the owners money just to replace the old parts.

Chip and the homeowners agreed that the American Standard system would serve them best, and Chip recommended installing a four-ton AC system with a 13 SEER rating to ensure the best air conditioning for their home.

The Installation

After the design phase of this project, Chip and his team got to work. Before they could begin, the unneeded parts of the old FHA system had to be removed. These parts had to be removed with care and disposed of properly.

The removal of the old system was just the first step of this AC upgrade. After the old outdoor condenser unit was removed, N.E.T.R., Inc. installed a new American Standard four-ton outdoor condenser on a concrete pad.

Upstairs, a new American Standard AC air handler was installed in the attic to offer the best air distribution throughout the home. The unit used was a variable speed AC blower so that it would allow the owners to customize their temperature control. Additionally, the team installed additional ductwork wherever needed to ensure that the entire home was properly treated.

After all of these parts of the system had been set up and connected, Chip and his crew set about connecting the copper piping, electrical wiring, and drains for condensation.

Finally, the central thermostat was connected, and the new air conditioning system was started and tested.

The Benefits

Outdoor condenser unit for American Standard AC system in Burlington, MA, home. Thanks to the upgraded system, this family will see a drop in their energy bills over the coming months. This financial benefit to upgrading their HVAC system is due to the continued improvement of air conditioning units and systems. Because the older unit was outdated and beginning to fail, it required more energy to run than the American Standard system.

The homeowners will be able to enjoy every room of their home even on the hottest days of the year, thanks to the AC upgrade. They’ll love being able to rely on evenly distributed cooled air whenever they need it.

Marlborough Renovation Includes LG Ductless HVAC System

Marlborough apartment renovation installed LG ductless HVAC. The owners of this beautiful, two-story home in Marlborough, MA, loved the charm of this older home but knew it needed some renovations. They decided to live in one part of the house and renovate the first-floor apartment.

By updating the apartment, they hoped to be able to get a long-term tenant and make a little extra money each month. The layout of the apartment provided an open floorplan throughout the kitchen, living room, and dining area, which they knew potential renters would love.

Unfortunately, the home had no central HVAC system and relied on a gas-fired forced hot water baseboard heating system during the winter. Throughout the summertime, the owners had been using window ACs to keep the rooms cool. These inefficient, noisy ACs cost a fortune to run and left hot and cold spots throughout the house.

Since they were already in the midst of remodeling, the owners decided to look into options for a new HVAC system to replace or supplement the existing gas baseboard heating. They saw some of the reviews written by previous customers of N.E.T.R., Inc. and knew that we could design a simple, effective solution for this apartment renovation.

Problem: This multi-family two-story home needed a new HVAC system in the first-floor apartment. Window air conditioning units and an old gas-fired, forced hot water baseboard system was already installed in the home.

Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. installed a two-unit LG ductless HVAC system with an outdoor condenser unit to supplement the existing baseboard heat and eliminate the need for window ACs.

The Design

Example of an indoor air handler installed in an apartment in Marlborough. While the family was still renovating the apartment, Chip Moeckel met with them to discuss a solution for the home. He noted that the open floorplan would allow for better airflow throughout the house, which would help with the initial cost of installation, as well as the monthly bills.

Chip designed an LG ductless heating and air conditioning system with two-zones in the apartment. The first zone would cover the living room, kitchen, and dining room, while the second zone treated the bedroom. Both units would have remotes mounted to the walls for easy access, and each would operate independently, providing maximum comfort.

The Installation

LG ductless AC unit installed in apartment. N.E.T.R., Inc. got to work straight away on this project, ensuring the installation process was completed before the family was ready to list their apartment for rent.

Installing a ductless system is much easier than other HVAC systems because it does not require any major modifications to the walls or rooms. All Chip and his team had to do was to drill a small hole behind the unit and mount each air handler to the wall. Then, the technician pushes a thin tube through the hole, inside the walls, and out to the outdoor condenser and heat pump.

In this case, the outdoor heat pump was installed on a poured cement pad beside the home where it was out of sight. Additionally, white line hide tubing was installed around the refrigerant piping to blend in perfectly with the side of the house.

Both of the indoor units were mounted high on the walls where they would be out of the way and provide optimal airflow throughout the space. Unlike traditional central HVAC systems, the ductless unit operates independently from one another. This design allows the owner or tenant to set the temperature in the living room a few degrees cooler than the bedroom with ease. Additionally, because N.E.T.R., Inc. was able to place the units properly, there will be no more hot and cold spots in the apartment.

Thankfully, these ductless units were simple to install, provide high-quality heating and cooling year-round, and are whisper-quiet, so the tenant won’t even hear them running.

The Benefits

Outdoor heat pump with line piping installed outside Marlborough home. This family was thrilled with the LG ductless system that allowed their tenant premium heating to supplement the forced hot water baseboard heating. This supplemental use of the ductless system will save the tenant and family big on their energy and gas bills throughout the winter.

Additionally, the apartment no longer needs window ACs to stay cool, which means whoever lives there can enjoy the natural light. Eliminating the window units was a big priority for the homeowners because of the potential security risk that they pose, especially when used on the ground floor. Burglars have been known to push window ACs in and gain access to a home through the window it is installed in. Thankfully, this family no longer has to worry about that, since the LG ductless units are located inside the home with only a thin tubing connecting them to the outside.

Another reason this family chose the LG ductless system is its dual-purpose features. As mentioned above, the ductless units will provide high-quality heating in the winter to supplement the existing system. In the summer, the entire system doubles as a highly-efficient air conditioning system, thanks to the LG heat pump design. By choosing LG ductless, this family was able to get both heating and cooling for the new apartment with a single installation.

In the future, this LG ductless installation can be expanded on easily, if the family decides to add heating and cooling to other parts of the home. Additionally, the entire system comes with a 12-year warranty and one full year of free labor for repairs and maintenance! Not only will this family be saving on their monthly bills, but they can rest assured that their investment in a new HVAC system will be well taken care of for years to come.

LG ductless installed in apartment in Cambridge, MA.This three-story, multi-family apartment in Wellington-Herrington, a neighborhood in Cambridge near Somerville, had a number of heating and cooling problems. Like many older homes that have been converted into apartments, each story of the house operated on individual heating and cooling systems, some of which were more efficient than others.

The owners of this apartment lived in the second story, which was heated with oil-fired heat radiators. The units above and below this one had gas heating. Additionally, the entire home had no central AC, so the tenets had to resort to using window ACs to stay cool during the summer. Unfortunately, with the increasingly hot summers and the drastically cold winters, this family was uncomfortable all year long. Not to mention, they were spending a fortune running their oil heaters, and their electric bills in the summer were outrageous from the window ACs.

Window air conditioners are notorious for being expensive to operate, especially in homes with no primary AC. Window units are also noisy, inefficient, block out the natural light, and are difficult to install and uninstall.

Finally, this family had enough, and they knew they could find a better heating and cooling solution for their apartment. They began researching ductless systems in Boston and the surrounding areas.

The Problem: This second-story apartment in a multi-family home had no central AC and used oil-fired radiators for winter heating. They were spending a fortune on energy bills and needed an efficient heating and cooling solution.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. installed an LG ductless heating and air conditioning system to provide quality temperature control all year long. They also installed a Kumo Cloud station for remote control of the system using an app on a smartphone.

The Design

Example of an LG ductless wall AC installed in apartment. After some research, the family decided to contact N.E.T.R. Inc., due to our years of experience provided quality HVAC installations throughout Boston and the surrounding areas. The family knew that N.E.T.R., Inc. would be able to design a perfect solution for their home.

Chip Moeckel, the project manager for this installation, met with the family to scout the site. After seeing the home, he proposed a two-zone LG ductless AC system with heating. One ductless unit would be installed in the kitchen, with another in the living room. This design would allow for optimal airflow throughout the home to provide treated air to every location.

Chip also proposed that the outdoor condenser unit for the system be installed on the right side of the home. This location would allow easy access for maintenance or repairs, limit the length of piping required for the install, and keep the unit out of sight.

The Installation

LG ductless wall AC installed in Cambridge apartment.Once the family agreed to the proposed system, Chip and his team got to work. Installing a ductless system is much easier than a centralized system, and it requires almost no construction.

The outdoor units sometimes require a concrete pad to be poured, unless there is already one in place. This pad provides a level, solid place for the unit to sit. The indoor units do not require any major ductwork. In fact, the technician simply drills a hole in the wall behind the unit and then mounts it to the wall.

The hole is used to snake thin tubing through the walls like electrical wire and out to the condenser. Treated air is then pumped through this tubing and distributed throughout the room via an LG ductless wall AC unit. The units are mounted high on the walls so that they can provide the best airflow without interfering with the rest of the room.

The Benefits

Outdoor example of an LG condenser unit for a ductless system. One of the benefits of the LG ductless system is that each AC unit operates separately from the others. This design allows the temperature to be set differently throughout the various rooms. Now, if the kitchen gets a little hot while Mom is making dinner, she can adjust the AC down a few degrees without impacting the other rooms.

Another benefit is that the LG ductless units are controlled with a remote. If Dad or the kids need to adjust the temperature while watching their favorite show, they don’t even have to get up off the couch! Plus, these LG ductless air conditioners serve the dual-purpose of being high-quality air conditioners and fast-acting heaters.

The entire system is designed to provide both heating and cooling. Now, the family can enjoy their home in the dead of winter or the dog days of summer. And, the family will see significant savings on their energy bills throughout the year.

They can continue to use their existing oil heating radiators and use the ductless heating system to supplement, or they can rely solely on the LG ductless for their heating this winter. Additionally, the family can finally ditch the noisy, inefficient window ACs and enjoy perfectly treated air for years to come.

Multi-Level Ranch in Peabody Gets Ductless System

Multi-level ranch gets Mitsubishi ductless in Peabody, MA.The owners of this ranch home in West Peabody, MA, had converted the building into their multi-level dream home. The style and size of the house allowed them plenty of space for the kids and entertaining guests so that they could finally enjoy the lifestyle they loved.

However, the home’s original baseboard heating system was out of date and expensive to operate during the cold New England winters. The family found that their home was riddled with hot and cold spots. Some rooms remained toasty warm while others barely kept out the chill.

Another problem presented itself during the summertime. The home was not built with a central AC system, and adding ductwork would significantly modify the interior of their home. Ductwork is run through the walls or ceilings of a home, but the age and design of this house made ductwork impossible.

After overpaying for energy bills year-round, the homeowners knew it was time to find an alternative. They began looking for ductless solutions to their heating and cooling needs. They discovered that Mitsubishi ductless air conditioning systems are some of the most efficient HVAC designs on the market.

The homeowners researched Mitsubishi AC systems and decided to go with N.E.T.R., Inc. because of our outstanding customer service reviews from other homeowners in Boston and the surrounding areas. Additionally, the family loved that N.E.T.R., Inc. is ranked Mitsubishi’s #1 Elite Diamond Dealer in the Boston area, so they knew we’d be able to provide a superior experience, as well as continued support.

The Problem: Converted multi-level ranch home in West Peabody, MA, was heating their home with an outdated hot-water baseboard heating system and cooling with window ACs. They’re outrageous energy bills led them to find an alternative.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. outfitted the entire home with a Mitsubishi ductless heating and cooling system with Hyper-Heating technology. Now, the home will stay comfortable all year round, and they will save big on energy every month.

The Design

Example of a Mitsubishi ductless indoor wall AC unit. When the family contacted N.E.T.R., Inc. about their heating and cooling problem, Mike Cappuccio met with the family himself. Mike is the founder of N.E.T.R., Inc., he has always been passionate about providing the best in customer service and loves to find solutions for families and businesses alike.

When Mike met with the family, he knew that a Mitsubishi ductless system would be able to solve their problems. The energy-efficiency of the system would save the family big on their energy bills, while the ductless design would allow for easy installation without a large construction project.  Mike designed a zoned system with two outdoor condensers, both equipped with Hyper Heating technology, and seven interior zones.

The Installation

Ductless AC with heat pump installed in Peabody, MA, home. Second outdoor heat pump installed for Mitsubishi ductless system in Peabody, MA.Each of the three bedrooms would need a ductless air conditioner installed. Mike’s team installs the wall ACs by drilling a small hole in the drywall behind the ductless unit. The hole allows the technician to snake a thin tube through the walls and to the heat pump installed outside.

For this project, two condensers were needed to ensure that the whole house Outdoor heat pump for heating and cooling Peabody ranch.would be properly heated and cooled. The Hyper Heating technology used in this system works by transferring the existing heat in the outside air, through a heating system, and then pumps it into the home using the air handlers. Additionally, these Mitsubishi ductless units all double as high-efficiency air conditioners, as well. Now, instead of installing and uninstalling window ACs, the family simply uses the Mitsubishi remote controls to adjust the temperature in the various rooms.

A floor AC was installed in the office, to optimize the flow of treated air in that space. The living room, and all other areas of the home, had wall AC units installed. Wall ACs are convenient for open floorplans and rooms with higher ceilings because they can be mounted out of the way and provide optimal airflow.

The Benefits

Indoor air handler for Mitsubishi ductless AC system. Thanks to this ductless installation, the family will now be able to enjoy year-round comfort in every room of their home. The ductless system will eliminate hot and cold spots and lower energy bills in the winter by offering supplemental heating to the existing hot water baseboard system.

Additionally, the family will be spared from having to deal with window ACs every summer. Window air conditioners are notorious for being loud, expensive to operate, and inefficient. In fact, window ACs have even been deemed a security risk, since some burglars use them to gain entrance to homes.

Floor mounted AC for Mitsubishi ductless system. Now, thanks to the ductless system, the family won’t have to worry about their safety, and they can keep each room perfectly comfortable. The units operate independently from one another, instead of using a single thermostat. This design gives the family the freedom to set the temperature in every room.

If mom and dad prefer a cool temperature for their bedroom, and the kids like it toasty warm, the Mitsubishi system will accommodate both needs easily. Another benefit to the system is its ability to monitor the humidity in the rooms and adjust accordingly. This added function will ensure perfect temperature control.

Ductless AC installed in Peabody, MA, ranch-style home. The ductless air conditioning system will eliminate those hot and cold spots while lowering the family’s energy bills. Instead of paying almost $700 a month in heating expenses, the ductless units each consume about the same energy as a lightbulb, so the family is sure to see a significant drop in their bills this winter.

The Hyper Heating feature of this system will even provide high-quality heating on the coldest days. Mitsubishi Hyper-Heating has been proven to continue to function in temperatures as low at -13 degrees!

Victorian Style Condo Gets Window AC Replacement

In the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, MA, many of the Victorian-style homes that line the streets have been converted into condos that house multiple families. This modern use for antique homes is an excellent way to preserve the beautiful homes while making them more affordable and practical for Boston homeowners.

Victorian condo in Jamaica Plain gets window AC replacement.Unfortunately, living in an old home, like this Victorian-style condo, has its drawbacks. Namely, the lack of air conditioning. These massive homes were built long before air conditioning was available, and with the increasingly hot summers in Boston, this is a problem for many residents.

One of the major problems with installing modern air conditioning is the use of ductwork. Victorian homes were not built to hide ductwork in the walls or ceiling, so adding the ducts for a centralized AC system would require extensive reconstruction of the home.

This problem is why many families resort to using window AC units to cool their condos. However, window ACs come with a slew of inconveniences, as well. This method of cooling a home is known to be inefficient, expensive, and even a security risk to the homeowners. Additionally, the homeowner was tired of all the maintenance and noise that came with owning a window air conditioning system.

With all of this in mind, this condo owner knew they needed an alternative. After doing some research, they decided to N.E.T.R., Inc. and see if a Mitsubishi ductless AC system would work for them.

The Problem: The owner of this Victorian-style condo wanted to replace their window ACs for something more efficient and less expensive.

The Solution:N.E.T.R., Inc. installed a single outdoor heat pump and three Mitsubishi ductless AC units throughout the home to provide optimal airflow for cooling the home.

The Design

Example of a ductless AC installed in Jamaica Plain home. After the homeowner decided to replace their window AC system, they researched alternatives. They knew that a Mitsubishi system would be able to meet their needs, especially after reading tons of customer reviews about their efficiency and reliability. When searching for a contractor to install their new system, N.E.T.R., Inc. seemed the only way to go because of their status as New England’s #1 Mitsubishi Elite Diamond Dealer Contractor.

N.E.T.R., Inc. is proud to maintain this prestigious title, which requires rigorous training of all technicians and strict policies on customer service. Keeping the status of #1 Mitsubishi Elite Diamond Dealer allows N.E.T.R., Inc. to provided extended, 12-year warranties to all customers. Additionally, this homeowner read plenty of reviews about our outstanding customer service that goes above and beyond.

For this project, James Smithell was the project manager. He met with the owner and toured the home so that he could come up with the most efficient system for this project. After seeing the layout, he determined that a single outdoor condenser unit and three indoor ductless wall AC would provide premium comfort for this client.

The Installation

Mitsubishi ductless AC unit installed in Victorian-style condo. The outdoor condenser unit was installed beside the stairs and tucked under a tree so that it wouldn’t distract from the overall aesthetic of the Victorian home. From this location, the thin tubing that connects the indoor units to the condenser could easily be piped into the walls of the home. The tubing allows the air to flow directly from the outdoor heat pump to the indoor air handlers, which distribute the treated air throughout the home.

Smithell and his team carefully layout the placement of all three indoor units to provide optimal cooling in every room. Instead of requiring bulky ductwork to be installed, the thin tubing runs through the walls like electrical wiring. This design means that only a small hole is cut in the wall behind the AC unit to attach the tubing. Altogether, the project leaves the home almost untouched, so the owner can continue to enjoy the charm of their 1905 home.

The Benefits

Mitsubishi ductless air handler for ductless AC system in Boston. Thanks to Mitsubishi ductless and the team at N.E.T.R., Inc., this homeowner will enjoy a home that is always the perfect temperature for years to come! Each of the three indoor units operates on its own thermostat, so the owner can set each room to the ideal temperature.

For example, if the kitchen gets a little warm in the afternoon sun, the touch of a button allows the Mitsubishi AC to drop the temperature just a couple degrees to take the edge off. Additionally, if the TV room stays perfectly comfortable in the spring and fall, then that unit can be turned off entirely, without affecting the other units in the system.

This Mitsubishi ductless system provides the homeowner with pin-point control over their comfort, and even offers humidity control in every room! The ductless units will automatically monitor the humidity and make corrections when needed to keep the home comfortable.

Additionally, these units double as state-of-the-art heat pumps in the winter. This will allow our homeowner to supplement their existing heating system if any of the room feel a little drafty this winter.

Not only will this homeowner save money every month on their energy bills, especially after using window ACs, but they qualified for over $2,700 in rebates! The Mass Save and Mass CEC organizations offer rebates for homeowners that make the switch to more efficient systems. Thanks to this project, the family qualified for $400 in rebates from Mass Save and $2,343 from Mass CEC!

Boston Home Supplements Oil Heating with Ductless Heating

In Jamaica Plain, homeowners find themselves with gorgeous Victorian homes from the turn of the century that feature large rooms, grand porches, and multi-level architecture full of beautiful detailing. These magnificent houses offer families the opportunity to live in a piece of history, but they come with their fair share of difficulties, as well.

Most Victorian homes feature fireplaces but were built before gas logs were available. As a result, many of these homes from the early 1900s were later equipped with oil heating systems. Some homeowners installed baseboard oil heating, while others upgraded the fireplaces to gas logs.

This home in Jamaica Plain in Boston had an old oil heating system that was leaving rooms on the third floor drafty. The homeowners were tired of spending their winters battling the hot and cold spots throughout their home and over-paying for their comfort. They knew that there had to be a better way to keep their home comfortable during the winter months.

The Problem: Hot and cold spots plagued the third-floor bedrooms and living area of this Victorian home in Jamaica Plain. The owners were in need of a supplemental heating solution for their oil heating system.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. recommended a three-unit Mitsubishi ductless heating system with an outdoor heat pump for premium comfort year-round. One ductless unit would be installed in each third-floor bedroom and the den.

The Design

The family had finally had enough of the third floor of their home remaining cold during the winter. The house’s existing oil heating system did not run to the third-floor, so they were forced to make do with space heaters and blankets, which didn’t do the trick on the coldest winter days.

The project manager assigned to this case, Russell, met with the family to observe the space and design a solution. He found that the home’s third-floor living area was in need of a floor unit, along with the master bedroom. The second bedroom would need a wall-mounted ductless AC, and all three units could then be piped to an outdoor heat pump. The outdoor unit would be installed on the side of the home, out of sight, to keep the home’s curb appeal intact.

The Installation

Mitsubishi ductless floor AC installed in Jamaica Plain Victorian home. Russell and his team were able to install the new units with minimal impact on the home’s interior. The ductless units only require a small hole to be drilled into the wall behind them during installation. This hole allows the thin tubing to be piped through the walls like electrical wire to the outdoor heat pump.

The outdoor condenser unit works by transferring the existing heat in the air outside the home through the system and to the indoor air handlers. By using the existing heat, this design maintains a highly efficient operating system even in the coldest temperatures. The treated air is pumped through the piping to the indoor units, and distributed throughout the home.

Each of the ductless ACs operates on its own thermostat, which allows the family to have pin-point control over their heating system. For example, if the den/living room is a little too warm, they can adjust the temperature using the remote control, without affecting the temperature of the two bedrooms. This way, they can keep their bedroom toasty warm, even if the living room is a few degrees cooler.

Additionally, the units will monitor the air in the house for humidity and make adjustments when needed. The ability to control the humidity is vital in older homes, like this one, which are often not well insulated.

The Benefits

This family will get to enjoy the comfort of their Mitsubishi ductless heating system for years to come! The entire system is easy to control, thanks to the remotes and individual thermostats. Now, even on the coldest winter days, their home will be perfectly warm.

Maintenance is simple, and with N.E.T.R., Inc.’s status as New England’s #1 Elite Diamond Dealer in Boston, the homeowners can rest assured that any repairs needed will be covered by the 12-year warranty included. Not only will they have the peace of mind that comes with knowing their system is covered under the extended warranty, but they will have a team of experts ready to take their call.

Another reason this family will be glad they chose Mitsubishi ductless for their heating solution is the impact it will have on their monthly energy bills. The Mitsubishi ductless system is one of the most energy-efficient heating and cooling systems available on the residential market. This efficiency is mostly due to the state-of-the-art heat pump in the outdoor unit. Thanks to the design of the units, each AC only takes the same energy as a lightbulb to run.

Now, the family can keep their home comfortable without running space heaters, which are a fire hazard, and enjoy lower monthly bills!

Additionally, the family was able to qualify for rebates on their upgraded system, just because it is more efficient! The family got a rebate from Mass Save of $250 and another rebate from Mass CEC of $1,350! That’s $1,600 in total savings, just for upgrading their home to Mitsubishi ductless.
