Perfect Comfort for East Boston Townhome with Mitsubishi Ductless System

East Boston townhome gets three zoned ductless system installed.

Townhomes, like this one in East Boston, were often built with electric baseboard heating, which was great for its time, and frequently were not equipped with air conditioning since it wasn't widely used at the time. Townhomes often have multiple levels and, without central ductwork, keeping all areas of the home perfectly comfortable can be a challenge. The basement may be cold while the middle floor stays cozy, and the top floor will probably be chilly in the winter and broiling on hot summer days.

Our homeowners were trying to keep their home warm in the winter by relying on electric baseboard heat. They had no central air conditioning units and were forced to use noisy, inefficient window units. They were spending a small fortune in energy bills and wanted to get a new system that would keep them comfortable all year long, without breaking the bank. They heard about Mitsubishi ductless systems and read consistent, great reviews. That’s when they decided to give us a call at NETR to see how we could help.

Problem: The owners of this East Boston townhouse were heating with electric baseboards and had no air conditioning. They were looking for a better heating and cooling solution that would be energy efficient while giving them they comfort they craved.

Solution: We used three zones of Mitsubishi Ductless to ensure the basement, master bedroom, and kitchen were perfectly comfortable. This provided cost-effective heating and air conditioning right where it was needed most.

Indoor wall unit for Mitsubishi ductless heating and air unit

Like most townhomes, we knew they would need comfort on several floors on the home, and the air would need to circulate well through a space to eliminate cold spots. Electric baseboards and window units are incredibly inefficient at distributing air evenly, they tend to keep certain areas comfortable and leave others cold. Because the old heating and cooling unit do not circulate the air throughout a space.

The window air conditioners unable to keep up with the heat on hot days and they blocked the windows for almost half a year. They are also heavy and hard to install, which is a process that takes up most of a weekend, two times a year!

We suggested a three zoned Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat ductless system would work well for this townhome in East Boston. We installed one outdoor unit and three indoor cassettes, shown in the pictures below.

These indoor units are mounted out of the way on a wall to optimize efficiency. They are each controlled by a convenient remote and they monitor both the temperature and the humidity in the room. The ductless systems distribute the air evenly throughout the space, eliminating those hot and cold spots and giving you the perfect temperature everywhere in the room.

Ductless wall mounted unit installed indoors.

Best of all, the three units operate independently, so you control temperature in the kitchen separately from the temperature in the basement, and master bedroom! This way you can save money by not heating or cooling an area that isn’t being used, which will save you a ton of money in energy bills.

Mitsubishi heat pump systems like this one can provide world-class heating and cooling through each indoor unit. The system uses an incredibly efficient inverter technology, that allows it to make small adjustments to keep the temperature and humidity steady throughout a space, rather than the drastic on/off settings you get with other systems. Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat systems work well even when it's -13F outside, meaning our homeowners will be able to stay toasty warm in every room of their home, no matter what mother nature dishes out this winter.

When the hot weather comes again, these ductless units will also function as a great state-of-the-art air conditioning solution. The units are whisper-quiet, ensuring that our homeowners will never have to deal with the rattle and clank of window unit.

The unit the in basement will help keep the office and family room area perfectly comfortable, while eliminating that clamminess that can be common in basement areas. The ductless unit in the kitchen will add heat or cooling as needed, making sure no one gets too hot when making meals or spending time together. Best of all, the quiet comfort in the master bedroom will ensure that our homeowners get a peaceful night sleep even on the most extreme days of the year, without worrying about sky-high energy bills.

Because these Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat ductless units are so efficient, our homeowners should see a dramatic decline in their energy bills, especially this winter. They’ll also enjoy the ability to add just a touch of heat or chill to a room with a quick touch of the button.

Just think, when it's a frosty morning and your nose tingles because you can feel the cold in the air, you can just reach over to the remote on the bedside table and adjust the temperature. Now, when your feet hit the floor the room will be perfectly comfortable and no one will be struggling to stay warm while getting ready for the day. That's a quality of life improvement our homeowners really appreciate about the convenience and comfort that Mitsubishi ductless brings to their home.

Here at NETR, we've been installing Mitsubishi Ductless units throughout Boston for years and we're the top Mitsubishi Elite Diamond contractor in the area. Boston Brownstone supplements traditional AC with ductless unitBoston features tons of beautiful brownstone homes like this one. They are incredible homes, but many of them have heating and cooling problems. This home had a great system installed with hot air, gas heat and central air conditioning; however, the top floor of the home, was never comfortable. It got hot and sticky in the summer and stayed chilly in the winter. So, these homeowners began looking for a solution that would provide the comfort they needed for this great space.

However, with a standard heating and cooling system already in place, a supplemental cooling unit is all you need to get that hard-to-cool space comfortable again.

Indoor installation of ductless heating and air unit.Mitsubishi's ductless heat pump systems are the perfect solution. These simple, wall-mounted systems provide terrific cooling comfort while monitoring the room’s temperature and humidity. The inverter technology they use is designed to pull the precise amount of energy necessary to keep the space comfortable and avoid huge swings in temperature. They distribute the cool air evenly throughout the room, preventing hot and cold spots and making sure everyone is perfectly comfortable throughout the room.

Best of all, Mitsubishi ductless AC systems, like this one, are well known for their reliability and energy efficiency, making them a great financial choice. A single zone system like this one is not only affordable, but it will help reduce energy bills compared to more traditional options like window units and fans.

While our homeowners chose the ductless system mainly to provide additional cooling, we think they'll also enjoy the fact that these units work as terrific heaters in the winter. Top floor rooms like this one can get chilly in the colder months and the Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat system will provide them with an extra touch of heat when needed, without cranking up the heat in the rest of the home. We were able to install the outdoor portion of the heat pump on the roof, keeping it out of the way, yet easy to access and maintain when needed.

Great  Year 'Round Heating and Cooling for this Falmouth Colonial with Ductless!

falmouth mitsubishi ductless air conditioning installation

Homes like this picturesque colonial home in Falmouth, MA are what people think of when they think of New England homes- cedar shake siding, mullioned windows- it looks ready for a postcard!  But older homes like this one sometimes aren't as comfortable as they could be. The owners of this home loved their home on Cape Cod, but it just wasn't as comfortable as their home in Newton. The Falmouth home is heated by oil steam-radiators and was relying on window air conditioners for comfort in the summer. The window units were loud and noisy, as well as inefficient- they cost an arm and a leg to run all summer long and often couldn't keep up with the heat and humidity. In addition, the homeowners were hoping to be at their Falmouth home more often during the off-season, but it tended to be a little cold, and took a long time to warm up once they turned on the steam heat.

Problem: The owners of this lovely colonial style home in Falmouth on Cape Cod wanted better cooling than they were getting from window air conditioners, and wanted additional comfort in colder weather.

Solution: Six zones of ductless heating and air conditioning will keep this Falmouth home perfectly comfortable all year long, while reducing energy costs, leaving the homeowners happy and satisfied!

falmouth mitsubishi ductless air conditioning installation

Beautiful homes like this one are an investment for the owners, and our homeowners wanted to make sure their Cape home was as comfortable as their city home, so they could really get the use out of it, all year long. They gave us a call here at NETR to see what we could recommend and they were intrigued by Mitsubishi Ductless, especially since it has such a great reputation for being a cost-effective solution for adding comfort to older homes like this one.

When we came out to see the home, we knew several things were going to be important- the first was to provide comfort throughout the home, and the second was to install the units so they would preserve the beauty of the home, inside and out. In order to provide our homeowners with the comfort they craved, while also being cost-effective in install and operate, we suggested 6 indoor, wall mounted units that could provide both heating and cooling exactly where they needed it most.

We also knew that the units needed to be installed in such a way to make the home comfortable, but also preserve the beauty of the home at the same time.  In order to do this, we essentially divided the house in half, and installed three indoor, wall mounted units as pictured above, to serve the living room, master bedroom and office, and another three units to an outdoor unit to ensure comfort for the TV room and two additional bedrooms. This meant that there were no ugly lines visible inside, making the units unobtrusive as they delivered maximum comfort, on demand.falmouth mitsubishi ductless air conditioning installation

The best part about Mitsubishi ductless for homes like this one is that ductless provides both heating and cooling solutions in one unit. The units provide world-class air conditioning in the summer and can provide that additional supplemental heating wherever you need it, all by just adjusting the temperature from a convenient remote control!

Mitsubishi ductless uses inverter technology, which allows it to use just the energy it needs to keep a room perfectly comfortable, adding heat or cooling as needed, rather than having an all on/all off approach many standard heating and cooling systems use, leading to wide temperature swings. In addition, ductless wall units monitor both temperature and humidity in a room, ensuring you'll get perfect comfort, while dispersing the hot or cool air evenly through a space, eliminating the hot and cold spot problems you can get with traditional radiators or window air conditioners.

In fact, Mitsubishi ductless is so energy efficient that it qualifies for rebates from the Mass Save and Mass CEC programs. Our homeowners were able to qualify for a Mass CEC rebate of $2,500 and a Mass SAVE rebate of $500, leading to a total of $3,000 in savings on this installation!falmouth mitsubishi ductless air conditioning installation

Best of all, each of the 6 Mitsubishi ductless units installed can be operated independently, creating separate zones of comfort. This means that on a cold Spring weekend, the homeowners can adjust the temperature to add a little extra heat to the master bedroom before their toes ever touch the floor from the convenient remote control, with no need to turn on the heating system for the whole house. Likewise, during the day, the homeowner can add cooling as needed to the office or TV room, without affecting the comfort elsewhere in the home- and you can even turn off the units when areas aren't in use, leading to additional big energy savings!

Our homeowners were so happy, they wrote us and said:

"Well first, the installation guys are machines! Wow. They really have their job down. The whole installation is really impressive. The brown outside lines (hoses?) can't even be detected against the house, and the compressors(?) are extremely discrete. And I was actually shocked at how unobtrusive the inside units are in each room (not like the ones at our Newton house). Somehow you just don't even notice them.
And…they work GREAT. Fast response, quiet. We are just tickled. You guys are the best. This whole installation is a game changer…BRING ON THE HUMIDITY! We've got the big guns now to tackle all that.
The only problem, for me, are the remotes -- in spite of the all information, they're still tricky to figure out. (But that's why I keep Michael around, right? He's a software developer; he writes that kind of stuff.) So 2 thumbs up (4, actually). Happy we are.
A hundred thanks, my friend. Take care of yourself, and we'll keep an eye on you and that well-stocked lake of yours with Google Earth. haw"
- Katrina

We're so glad the homeowners got the comfort they wanted, and we know they will also be pleased with their energy bills, especially during the summer, having replaced all those noisy and efficient window units. And with a little more practice and help, those remotes will be easy to use as well.

If you have a home on the Cape that needs additional comfort, give us a call here at NETR. You can give up the chore of installing window units by adding Mitsubishi ductless to your home! We can help you get the comfort you need, while saving you money on energy bills at the same time-something that every homeowner can appreciate!

Newbury, MA Cottage Upgrades to Mitsubishi Ductless AC

Newburyport multi-family colonial home gets Mitsubishi multi-zoned ductless system.

In Newburyport multi-family homes like this one are common. Like most homes from this period, this home was built with no central forced air heating or cooling systems. Many of these homes have hot or cold spots, especially in the attic spaces, which always get too hot in the summer and never warm enough in the winter.

The family in this home were tired of relying on window air conditioners in the summer to try to stay cool. And keeping the bedrooms, especially those in the attic, warm enough in cooler weather was a struggle. They gave us a call here at N.E.T.R Inc. to see what we could do to make their whole home comfortable, every day of the year. We knew right away that a Mitsubishi ductless heat pump system could work well, delivering them the comfort hey wanted, where they needed it, and provide the efficiency that would help them save money on energy bills as well.

When we came out to the home, the family showed us around, and mentioned that they chose us based on our reviews and experience. We are proud of our reputation and the reviews from previous customers, because we work hard to treat everyone like family and design a custom solution for each home that will deliver the comfort any family needs. We strive to make each system cost-effective, because every homeowner needs to carefully consider the cost of installation and operation when making a big decision about investing in your home's heating and cooling system.

Indoor ductless AC installed in attic bedroom in Newburyport home.

Problem: This multi-family home in Newburyport needed both heating and cooling throughout, the 2 attic bedrooms, 2 additional bedrooms on the second-floor, and the kitchen. They needed a cost-effective solution.

Solution: We installed a multi-zoned Mitsubishi ductless mini split system that  will ensure this family gets the comfort they crave every day of the year, while saving money on energy bills.

We suggested that the family install five-zones of ductless air conditioning, in order to ensure that all the bedrooms would be comfortable We also installed an additional zone for the kitchen, so that when the family was together they would be equally as comfortable. By installing units in each of the four bedrooms, including the two in the attic and two on the second floor, each bedroom would have comfort that was adjustable independently of the other. That means if the kids like it a bit warmer, but Mom and Dad like a nice chilly bedroom, there will be no more arguing over who can touch the thermostat. Each room will be controlled by an individual remote control and can be set to the temperature needed, or even turned off when not in use.

Mitsubishi Electric ductless mini split installed in second-floor bedroom.Besides adding adjustable comfort, ductless is a big improvement over window air conditioners because it's so quiet! Operating at about 22db, it's as quiet as a whisper and will make sure everyone can get a good night's sleep without the rattling of those old window units. Many families we work with also appreciate the low noise levels so they can keep an ear out for their kids- whether it's a youngster with a cold, or when your teenager comes home late at night!

Each of the Mitsubishi ductless units are connected to main outdoor heat pump condenser unit, but each inside unit can be controlled independently. This makes Mitsubishi ductless systems a cost-effective way to provide zones of comfort throughout a home. The units act as heat pumps and air conditioners, providing warmth and premium cooling on demand.  Using inverter technology, these units can operate efficiently even when it's -13F outside, still providing heat wherever it's needed. The units monitor a room and make the small adjustments needed to keep the temperature steady, and this saves a lot of energy compared to many homes with whole house systems that struggle with keeping comfort the same throughout, and often waste energy heating and cooling spaces that aren't even in use!

Example of indoor ductless AC unit with Hyper-Heating technology.

Creating zones of comfort adds to the energy-efficient technology Mitsubishi created with their ductless systems. In fact, these units are so efficient, the Commonwealth offers two rebate programs, Mass Save and Mass CEC, that help encourage homeowners to adapt more energy-efficient systems in their home. Our homeowners qualified for a Mass Save rebate of $800 and a Mass CEC rebate of $3,125, leading to a savings of $3,925 on this installation! This makes this upgrade to the comfort of this home even more affordable, while delivering world-class comfort any day of the year.

Just imagine on a cold, frosty day this winter, the parents reach for the remote control, and bump up the temperature in their room a few degrees, making sure it's toasty before they get up to start their day. The kids upstairs no longer must race around, trying to stay warm while getting dressed, and can then shut the unit off when they come downstairs to get ready for school. Everyone is starting the day in a good mood and ready for whatever happens when they leave the house. Likewise, when it starts to warm up in the spring, instead of trying to figure out which weekend will be devoted to installing window AC units everywhere, the family can go out and enjoy the town.

Ductless air conditioning in Newburyport installed by N.E.T.R Inc.We know this family will enjoy the additional comfort they have, in every room of the house, while saving significant money on energy bills every day of the year. Getting this comfort for our homeowners in Newburyport while working with them to maximize their savings under the Commonwealth energy efficiency rebate programs is what helps set N.E.T.R Inc. apart from other competitors. We go the extra mile to make sure you are treated like family.

Problem: This multi-family home in Newburyport needed both heating and cooling throughout, the 2 attic bedrooms, 2 additional bedrooms on the second-floor, and the kitchen. They needed a cost-effective solution.

Somerville Condo Saves Money while Increasing Comfort With Ductless

Victorian condo needed additional cooling with Mitsubishi ductless air conditioningIn Somerville, a lot of older homes have been converted into condos, like this great Victorian style home. And like many of these homes, there's no air conditioning, so condo owners rely on window units to try to keep cool in Boston's increasingly humid and hot summers. Window units have a lot of downsides, though.

First of all, they are heavy and a pain to install and put away at the end of each season. Plus, you can never quite guess when the perfect time to install them is, leaving you either freezing or sweating as a result. And they are pretty noisy and inefficient, meaning higher energy bills, which will give any homeowner a headache.

Our homeowners were looking for a more cost-effective and efficient solution , that would keep them comfortable throughout their condo. They gave us a call here at NETR based on our many outstanding reviews and our extensive experience in the area. When we came out, we knew that three zones of Mitsubishi ductless air conditioning would keep them comfortable all year long.

Problem: Our homeowner of a condo in this Somerville Victorian-Style home needed additional comfort, especially in warmer weather- their window air conditioning units weren't keeping up, and left them hot under the collar.

Solution:Three zones of Mitsubishi Ductless will make sure each bedroom and the main dining area are cool- and customizable- to create the perfect comfort.

Mitsubishi ductless unit installed in Somerville Condo

One of the things we love best about Mitsubishi ductless systems is that you can install multiple indoor units using one outdoor heat pump/condenser. This makes it a flexible system, as well as cost effective to deliver comfort in multiple rooms in a home. In this case, we installed three units- one in each bedroom, and another in the main dining room area. This then creates three different zones of comfort- each one being controlled by a separate remote control.  That means you can turn off the unit in the dining room when everyone goes to bed, and adjust the units in the bedroom to your perfect sleeping temperature, and vice versa during the day, saving lots of money on energy bills by not heating or cooling areas of the home not in use.

These units also operate using inverter technology, which relies on the units monitoring the heat and humidity in a room and adjusting it slightly, as needed, to make sure you keep a constant temperature and not have big swings from hot to cold when a unit kicks on. This makes it much more energy-efficient and draws much less power than window units.  It's also the kind of technology you'd see in large, high-end whole home HVAC systems, but available for zoned systems like this one.  In fact, these units are so energy-efficient, they qualify for rebates under the Mass Save and Mass CEC programs, These homeowners qualified for a $400 Mass Save rebate, making the installation of this permanent solution even more affordable!

outdoor heat pump unit in Somerville, MAEven on the outside of the home, the exterior units can be located and the piping run so that it really blends into the home, making it so we can preserve both in inside and exterior beauty of your home at the same time, and it's one of the hallmarks of what we do here at NETR to make sure our homeowners are not only more comfortable, but also pleased with how much care we put in to treat them like family.

We know our homeowners here in Somerville, MA will be enjoying the cooling they will get as the weather warms up, but even this Winter, they can appreciate the system, which also acts as supplemental heating. Because of the versatility of ductless heat pumps,  our homeowners will be able to add that touch of heat to the room from the remote before their feet even touch the floor on the cold days ahead, and add that little bit of warmth you might want in the evenings, without cranking up the thermostat for the whole home. This will help save money on energy bills as well, and it's one of the things many of our customers who install ductless mainly for its cooling grow to appreciate during colder weather.

If you have been thinking about how to get a better, quieter, and more efficient solution for cooling your home in the Somerville area, now's the time to give us a call here at NETR and we'll make sure you are comfortable every day of the year!

Somerville Home Gets Mitsubishi Ductless AC for Attic Comfort

Somerville home gets Mitsubishi ductless AC for attic comfort

Homes built in the 1800’s, like this one in Somerville, were built long before central air conditioning. Our homeowners wanted to convert their attic space into a usable space that is as comfortable as the rest of the house.

Attic spaces are notoriously hard to heat and cool. In the summer, the heat from the rest of the house rises to the attic, making it hot and uncomfortable. Then, in the winter, when you might expect the attic to be warm for the same reason, poor insulation and air circulation causes attics to be frigid.

When the homeowner called us looking for a cost-effective, energy-efficient solution for their problem, we knew exactly what they needed.

Problem: The owners of this 1800's home had no heat or air conditioning for the third-floor attic space, which was always too hot or too cold for comfort.

Solution: NETR added two Mitsubishi ductless HVAC units to the third-floor attic and created a great oasis in the home that everyone can enjoy!

Indoor installation of ductless unit for heating and cooling in SomervilleMitsubishi ductless split system AC is a great solution for older homes, because it allows you to add zones of heating and air conditioning where you need it most. These split systems solve the problem of hot and cold spots that many homes deal with daily and they do not any ductwork. The ductless heating and cooling system has minimal impact on the beauty and architectural features on these gorgeous older homes, while providing modern comfort during all seasons of the year.

The ductless HVAC system works with an outdoor, heat pump, condenser unit and indoor wall-mounted cassettes. These indoor units distribute air throughout a room quietly and monitor temperature as well as humidity. You can control the temperature with a hand held remote or you add a wall thermostat. There are even cloud-enabled apps that can be installed as add-ons to make control of the system as easy, even when you are not home! Once you set your comfort level, the units use an inverter technology to keep the temperature steady, using as little energy as possible.

Ductless Savings

Somerville home get Mitsubishi ductless zoned AC for attic heating and cooling

Our homeowners opted for two indoor Mitsubishi ductless units to keep the rooms in attic space comfortable. Choosing such an energy-efficient option, added comfort to their home that will save them money on energy bills all year long. When compared to the noisy window AC units they had been relying on in the past, this solution is so energy-efficient, the homeowners qualified for energy-saving rebates. Through the Mass Save program they qualified for a rebate of $200 and a Mass CEC rebate of $1,302, bringing a total savings of $1,502! Those savings helped this upgrade in long term, heating and cooling comfort to be even more affordable.

Outdoor condenser heat pump installation in Somerville

Mitsubishi ductless systems are great because they work both as heating and cooling systems through one unit. This means the homeowners can have that touch of warmth they want on the third floor during the winter, without having to crank up the heat for the whole house. Likewise, during the summer, they can add the perfect chill to the air when they need it and keep the whole third-floor cool.

The whisper-quiet operation will make this third-floor space one of the most popular in the house, with its custom, adjustable heating and cooling ability. The units can even be turned off if the space isn't in use, so the homeowners can avoid wasting money on energy bills!

In the end, NETR was able to deliver an efficient and cost-effective solution to make this Somerville attic one of the best spaces in the home. If you have a space in your home that is never the right temperature, give us a call here at NETR and we'll find a comfort solution that's right for you.

Problem: The homeowners planned to finish their below-ground basement to create a game room, a theater room, a personal gym, and a master bathroom. They didn't want bulky ductwork to infringe on the headroom of the spaces, and they knew that pushing conditioned air down through ceiling registers would force them to make compromises in other parts of the house just to make the basement comfortable.

Solution: With some solid pre-construction planning, we were able to design and install a ductless mini split system for the basement controlled completely independent of the rest of the home. This install gave the homeowners total, room-by-room temperature and humidity control in their luxurious getaway spaces.

                                                                                              HOW DUCTLESS WORKS

Increase Home Value in Charlestown with Mitsubishi Ductless

Charlestown is full of charming older homes like this one. Over the years, these homes have relied predominantly on window air conditioners for relief from the hot, humid New England summer, but these window ACs are rarely able to keep up with the heat, especially on the top floor.

Many homeowners are faced with a wall of heat whenever they go from the air-conditioned family room, up the stairs, to an unconditioned upstairs hallway.  It’s enough to take your breath away on the hottest days.

Charlestown colonial home gets Mitsubishi ductless AC

Outdated window units are inefficient, unlike ductless AC units.Because many of these kinds of homes were built in a time when air conditioning was not an option, window AC units, despite their inefficiency are often chosen to help homeowners survive the hot summers.  These air conditioners provided welcome relief for master bedrooms and living rooms, even though they cost a fortune to run and do not distribute the air evenly throughout a room.

These days most homeowners are converting to a more permanent air conditioning solution that cools their home more efficiently and costs less to run.  However, ductwork was not an option for this young, professional, Charlestown couple, but neither was noisy, inefficient, ineffective window air conditioners. That's when they called us in.

Problem: The homeowners wanted an energy-efficient system that would cool the second floor of their Charlestown home. They wanted to make an investment that would increase the value of their home, improve their overall level of comfort and save them money on energy bills.

Solution: Using Mitsubishi Mini-split Ductless Units, we designed a three-zone solution that eliminated their hot spots and gave them pinpoint control of the temperatures in all three zones.  From experience in these types of homes, we know this system will save them money on monthly energy bills. With Mitsubishi Electric's 12-year warranty on these units, we know they add long-term real value to their home.

The problem this young family was experiencing was tied to the challenges that come with cooling an older home of this tall, narrow, and deep construction especially the upstairs.  In homes like this, homeowners have two choices if they want to go with central air:

  1. Rip out some walls to install ductwork, this often results in leaks if not done by a BPI certified contractor.

  2. Run your ductwork up against the ceiling or along a wall and box it in with sheet rock.

Window units are noisy and unable to provide adequate air circulation, which is the main cause of hot and cold spots. When we met to review air conditioning solutions that would work for them, we knew creating multiple zones would allow them to have the pin-point control of heating and cooling they desired.  This solution would allow them to have the comfort they needed, where and when they needed it most.

NETR is the premier installer of ductless systems in the greater Boston area.

Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump Helps This Allston Colonial Home Stay Comfortable All Year

Installing a Zoned Ductless System in Allston Home

Boston, like most of New England, is filled with older homes.  While homes, like this one in Allston, are full of great architectural features most were built during a time when air conditioning was a luxury reserved for the wealthy and most homeowners could not afford the cost of installation.

Now, heating and cooling these older homes can be expensive, especially when you try to balance the temperatures throughout the house. Often, one room is too cold while another is too hot, resulting in a never-ending battle for control of the thermostat. The only way to warm up the cold rooms is to crank up the heat, causing other rooms to become too hot.  This kind of uneven heating costs homeowners hundreds in energy bills throughout the winter. Which is why we were brought in to solve that problem for this family in Allston, MA.

NETR suggested that they install Mitsubishi Hyper-Heating ductless units to create zones of comfort, right where this family needed it most

The ductless wall units are unobtrusive and blend in to the walls as they deliver unparalleled air conditioning to this hard to regulate home.  Ductless units supply heating and cooling on demand from a remote control, providing quiet comfort any day of the year, just what our homeowners wanted.

The ductless system will supplement their current heating system, so no expensive removal of the old system was necessary. In fact, by adding the ductless system to their home, they will be able to minimize the use of their existing system, extending its life, and providing them with outstanding savings on monthly energy bills.
