Top 7 Benefits of American Standard Central AC systems

Find me on:

In the HVAC world, the American Standard name has stood for quality for almost 100 years. The company made its first furnace in 1929, and today, it continues to go strong. Wondering if an American Standard central AC system is right for your home or office? To help you decide, we've put together a list of some of the top benefits of these AC units.

1. Cleaner Air

The AccuClean air filter on American Standard central ACs removes up to 99.98% of the allergens from your air. This whole-home air filtration system gives you a strong line of defense against the 72 trillion allergens that can get into your home every day, and it helps to reduce the 40 pounds of dust that the average home generates in a year.

2. Variable-Speed Fans

Single-speed fans can meet your cooling needs in moderate climates, but variable speed fans change their speed based on outside temperatures, helping to improve efficiency while making your home more comfortable and keeping temperatures more consistent.

3. Quiet Operation

You don't want the sounds of summer obscured by a noisy air conditioner, and to help make your environment peaceful. American Standard central ACs run very quietly. On average, American Standard air conditioners run at 70 dB, about the level of a typical conversation, but some models are even quieter. For example, the AccuComfort Variable Speed Platinum 20 AC runs at about 4 dB quieter than the competition.

4. Efficiency

For people living in northern states, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) suggests having a minimum SEER rating of at least 13 for your air conditioner. As all American Standard ACs fall between 13.5 and 22 SEER levels, you can rest assured that your new AC will meet or outperform recommended efficiency levels.

Short for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, SEER measures the system's cooling capacity in relation to the amount of energy it consumes, and higher ratings correlate with greater efficiency.

5. Durability

Made with high-quality materials and durable construction methods, American Standard air conditioners are designed to last a long time.

6. Climate Control and Consistent Temperatures

Traditional central air conditioners feature compressors that run at a constant pace, and unfortunately, this can cause uncomfortable temperature fluctuations in your home. When the AC is running, your home is likely to feel frigid, but then, when the AC cycles off, your home feels too hot. American Standard air conditioners bypass this issue thanks to Accucomfort Technology which adjusts at minute intervals, improving comfort by keeping temperatures consistent to within half a degree of your thermostat settings.

7. Multiple Models

American Standard makes a wide variety of different central AC models, allowing you to choose the exact features you need. All models use environmentally friendly refrigerant and are Energy Star certified with high SEER ratings, but here is a breakdown of the main differences between American Standard's three AC tiers:

  • Platinum: While these models are the most expensive, they also boast the highest level of efficiency thanks to their double stage compressors, variable speed fans, and AccuComfort temperature controls. This series also has the quietest motors.

  • Gold: Offering up to 18 SEER ratings, two-stage compressors, and multi-stage cooling capacity, the Gold series provides a balance between savings and efficiency.

  • Silver: The most affordable way to invest in an American Standard AC, silver models have single-stage cooling, but these Energy Star certified ACs still offer consistent, energy-efficient cooling.

At N.E.T.R., Inc, we have been helping home and business owners create comfortable spaces since 1989, and we would love to help you choose a new AC for your home or business. Don't let the heat of summer cramp your style.
