Problem: The hot water oil heating system in this older, 1930’s home was not providing enough warmth in the winter, and the bedroom above the garage had no central AC, so the owners were forced to use window air conditioners to keep cool in the summer. This solution was an expensive, inefficient system, and they knew there had to be a better way.
Solution: N.E.T.R. Inc. installed a single, indoor, ductless mini split unit for supplemental heating in the winter and world-class air conditioning in the summer. This solution will keep the family comfortable all year long and help to reduce their energy bills by providing more efficient heating and air conditioning than their old methods.
In the summertime, the bedroom above the garage became an oven since it had not been equipped with an air conditioning system. Because of the lack of AC, the owners had to install window air conditioning units every spring and remove them every fall to try and stay comfortable during the summer. If that wasn’t enough, the window ACs were loud, blocked their windows, and ran the energy bill up every summer.
Paul Varonakis was the project manager for this installation. He met with the owners to discuss possible solutions for their heating and cooling problems. In the end, he advised that they get a single, Mitsubishi ductless mini-split AC with an outdoor condenser and heat pump. This setup will allow supplemental heating in the winter through the Mitsubishi ductless heat pump and unmatched cooling comfort for the bedroom in the summer.
