The Problem: This cape had no central AC and used oil heating in the winter. The family needed a solution that was efficient, cost-effective, and provided year-round heating and cooling relief.
The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. installed a two-zoned system with an LG ductless unit in the family room and one in the bedroom. The LG ductless heating and air conditioning system will provide relief all year long.

Additionally, the lack of central air conditioning would leave the house hot and muggy all summer long. The owners considered investing in window AC units, but after some research decided against it. Window ACs are a common solution in the area, but they are noisy, expensive to run, and incredibly inefficient. On top of that, installing the units in the windows of the home would be a difficult task. They even found that it could create a security threat for the family. Burglars have been known to use window ACs as access points in houses, so the family knew this was not an option for them.
These homeowners contacted N.E.T.R, Inc. needing a ductless system for their home that would provide air conditioning and supplement their oil heating system. James Smithell took the lead on this project and met with the family to tour the property.
The installation of this system was quick and easy, unlike the installation of a ducted system. Instead of needing to make changes to the home’s interior, the only thing these ductless units required is a small hole drilled into the wall behind the unit. This hole allows a thin tubing to be snaked through the walls and out to the outdoor unit.
Each ductless AC unit will be easy to adjust since they operate via remote control. Now, if the homeowners are enjoying a movie night in the family room and it gets a little stuffy, they can adjust the temperature from the comfort of their couch.
