The Problem: A Boston Harborside Funeral Home discovered that their rooftop heating and air conditioning unit was in need of replacement. Since winter was only a few weeks away, they needed a replacement fast.
The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. attained permits, coordinated with city officials, and installed the new heating and air conditioning unit on the roof before winter arrived.

In the fall of 2019, as the evenings began to get colder and the faint bite of winter’s chill was in the air, the owners discovered that their rooftop heating unit had failed. Replacing a rooftop unit is a huge ordeal, requiring large machinery, city permits, and more. But, with freezing temperatures only a few weeks away, they knew they needed a solution fast.
There were a number of significant challenges that Mike Herrick and his team would have to overcome to get this heating unit installed before the temperatures dropped. Because of the funeral home’s location and the location of the unit needing replacement, the removal and installation process was not as straightforward as most projects.
Another consideration was the staging required for pedestrians on the sidewalk in front of the funeral home. Mike and his team had to ensure that the staging was properly installed before they could even begin the installation process.
